More on baking class, week 1 (pictured is what I got to take home)…
The focus of the first class was puff pastries. I was really nervous about going. Worried that it would be to hard, or too easy, or I wouldn’t make friends… etc. And then the trains were being weird and I had to take a shuttle bus so I was 15 minutes late and was thinking “oh no, everybody is going to watch me enter and I’m going to miss something really important” But alas, it was okay, it was more than okay… it was wonderful. I found out that I had been pronouncing “pate a choux” completely wrong. The class worked much the same way the vegetarian tapas course went, only, you didn’t already have a preassigned partner. Me and my partner ended up making swans, which I had never seen before making them myself.
I learned a lot already, and knew more than I thought I did. I love it and can’t wait for this weekends class (pie crusts). Also, I now love homemade whipped cream and don’t know how I’ve gone so long without it.
