Adventures (and misadventures) in the kitchen from a novice baker.

These are some of my goodbye cards (SPOILER ALERT… here’s the really big thing that I mentioned a while ago) from my school…

Yes, I resigned from my teaching job. I actually notified the school a couple of months ago, but last Friday was the last day of school year (before they go back in 2 and 1/2 weeks) and therefore my official last day. The week before, the students and teachers in the Middle School division had a goodbye party for me and it was so wonderful. They gave me presents and we sang the most perfect goodbye song and some of the kids got up on the microphone and gave me mini speeches. There was a lot of hugs and cupcakes. Of course I cried a lot, and I cried last Friday. I’m a big crier, if you don’t know me. It was a very bittersweet, goodbye… really, it was more of a “see you later” because Tyler still works there and I still live close, so obviously I’m going to visit, but I’m still allowed to be sad… “Why cry about leaving a stressful and tiring job to take some time and explore what else is out there for Cora?” you ask? Well for one, on top of the stress, or maybe next to it, the job can be rewarding, the community is phenomenal, the students and staff work so hard, I got to (or had to) be creative, all the time… it’s a very special place. And it’s been the biggest part of my life for the last 3 and a half years. And I left it.
