Happy accident
I think snickerdooles are a very handsome cookie.
Not the best picture because I only realized this one looked like a heart after it had been put in tupperware and transferred to an improv show, but still neat.
Over my vacation I was in LA for just barely 4 days trying to do as much as possible and visit with as many people that I could in the short time I was there. I’d say I had a very successful, and very wonderful trip.
While there, Ellen, an old friend from my hometown (and a fellow dancer, back when we were dancers) contacted me and we met up for cupcakes and then she took me to the macaron store, Paulette’s that she works at in Beverly Hills. I posted a picture of the counter here.
But here’s another one

The store was very simple and pretty. All white except for the beautiful rainbow of macaroons. Ellen treated me to a dozen macarons which I was overjoyed to accept and very appreciative of (as were the friends I visited later in the week). I’ve only had french macaroons a very limited number of times and I think they were blown away by these cookies! The size of a macaron (in general) with it’s sweetness and subtle tastes is so elegant; you don’t want to eat them all at once, but you could.

Such a classy cookie… er.. cookie sandwich…? Macaron.
Here’s Ellen and I in front front of the store

I was so happy to see her face and share baking talk.
A stickie note left on my tupperware by one of my favorite people at work.
(also, I am slowly learning Japanese phrases)
live baking(frosting)
Mini Half Moons/Black and White Cookies…. this may take a while.
Behold…
the largest bowl of cookie batter EVER.
..Okay, maybe not really, but it’s pretty big.
Caramel deLites Shortbread Sandwich Cookies.
My personal FAVORITE from the Girl Scout Cookie Fundraiser that I went to last night. For these sandwiches, they crushed the Caramel deLites and used them as if they were a flour to make shortbread cookies. The filling included bananas, dulce de leche, brown sugar AND bacon!
Here’s a picture of me at the event.
You can’t see it because it’s so tiny, but I’m holding a Caramel deLites Ice Cream Sandwich, made by Molly Rabideau, Pastry Chef at KO Prime. This wasn’t my favorite but the judges sure seemed to enjoy it because it won.
Ooopsie! GIANT COOKIE.
Oatmeal white chocolate cranberry. I bought steel cut oats on accident. They do different things. I think it tastes good, but it’s a very different texture.
Picture taken from my phone because my silly camera is not working
